Putin is about to reap the whirlwind.

In 1943, during WW2,

"Hitler’s V-weapons, (otherwise known as "doodlebugs" in London) the V-1 flying bomb and V-2 rocket, were known as Vergeltungswaffen (‘revenge weapons’), designed to be used for terror bombing in retaliation for the increased Allied attacks on German cities during the latter stages of WW2. London was a primary target and the idea was to terrorise British civilians and undermine public morale to such an extent that Britain might capitulate from the war." (Sky History) (my emphasis)

Putin's "doodlebugs" are more sophisticated than the 1943 "doodlebugs" of Hitler. They can be precisely targeted and used as a "terror" instrument.

Yesterday, Putin used his precision "doodlebugs" to "terrorise" the people of Ukraine as 'revenge' for the attack on his 'White Elephant' Kerch Bridge by Ukrainian forces.

Ian Collier : Sky News : 10 October 2022

Earlier (Thursday 6 October 2022), Jacob Paul (left) reported that,

"The world's largest warship which is set to carry a 9,000-troop NATO strike group has set out on a journey to perform military drills in the Atlantic in a huge show of force against Vladimir Putin as tensions with the Russian dictator soar." (Express : 6 October 2022) (my emphasis)

And immediately following Putin's 'revenge-blitzkrieg' against the people of Ukraine yesterday,  Jacob Paul further reports that,

  • French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz have been called on to step up and send more lethal aid to Ukraine
following a brutal barrage of damaging Russian missile strikes which rained down on multiple cities on Monday
  • Now, it appears that Berlin has responded to the pleas from Ukraine and will deliver the first of four IRIS-T SLM air defence systems to Ukraine within days, according to its defence ministry.
  • German Defence Minister Christine Lambrecht said on Monday: "The renewed missile fire on Kyiv and the many other cities show how important it is to supply Ukraine with air defence systems quickly.
  • François Heisbourg of the International Institute for Strategic Studies, told Le Monde: "There is a gap between the ambitions displayed by France and the effort it provides to help Ukraine. According to figures from the start of the month, France had only given €233million (£205million) in military aid to Ukraine, compared to Britain's €4billion (£3.5billion) and the US' €25billion (£22billion).(Express : 10 October 2022) (my emphasis)
As a banker before becoming President of France Macron, it would seem, is miserly giving aid to Ukraine whilst carefully considering the oodles of Euros that French businessmen have invested in Putin's Russia.

The international outcry against Putin's 'revenge-blitzkrieg' must now be giving Putin serious cause for concern.

As reported by Mint,

"[India's] Foreign ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi (left) said in a statement, “We reiterate that escalation of hostilities is in no one's interest. We urge immediate cessation of hostilities and the urgent return to the path of diplomacy and dialogue. India stands ready to support all such efforts aimed at de-escalation." (Mint : 10 Octiber 2022) (my emphasis)

Similarly, as reported by the Jack Lau (right),

"China has offered a muted response to a blast that crippled the Crimean Bridge and the subsequent shelling of Ukrainian cities, calling for de-escalation of the war in Ukraine.
...
Foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said “we have noted the relevant reports”, when asked about the explosion and bombings across Ukraine on Monday. “We also hope that the situation can de-escalate as quickly as possible.” (South China Morning Post : 10 October 2022) (my emphasis)

Furthermore, as reported by the Glasgow Evening Times (from: PA News Agency),

"[On October 6th Russia’s U.N. Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia (left)] called for a secret ballot vote next week on a Western-backed resolution that would condemn its “attempted illegal annexation” of part of four Ukrainian regions and demand that Moscow immediately reverse its actions.

Russia apparently hope[d] it would get more support from the 193 nations in the General Assembly if their votes [were] not public." (Glasgow Evening Times: 6 October 2022) (my emphasis)

Unfortunately for Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia, yesterday, as reported by Michelle Nichols (right),

"The United Nations General Assembly voted on Monday to reject Russia's call for the 193-member body to hold a secret ballot later this week on whether to condemn Moscow's move to annex four partially occupied regions in Ukraine.
...
The General Assembly decided, with 107 votes in favor, that it would hold a public vote - not a secret ballot - on a draft resolution that condemns Russia's "illegal so-called referenda" and the "attempted illegal annexation." (Reuters : 10 October 2022) (my emphasis)

Angry Putin has now vowed that Ukraine, if it continues to push his soldiers out of ALL his illegally annexed parts of Ukraine, including Crimea, will continue to rain his "doodlebugs" upon the people of Ukraine.

As reported by Will Stewart and Charles Wade-Palmer,

" Russia will dip into its vast arsenal of missiles to relentlessly bomb Ukraine back into the 19th century, Vladimir Putin’s state TV has vowed in a chilling warning.
...
Putin’s relentless bombing of Ukrainian cities this week is seen as the dictator showing his
wrath over an alleged Kyiv attack on the Crimean Bridge
linking the annexed peninsula to the Russian mainland." (The Daily Star : 11 October 2022) (my emphasis)

But like the British defences
that scored many victories against Hitler's "doodlebugs", Ukraine's defences against Putin's "doodlebugs" have now been added to by the German IRIS-T SLM air defence systems .

Threatening to relentlessly bomb Ukraine, Putin is about to reap the whirlwind.

STOP PRESS!!

Edith M. Lederer (left) of the Associated Press yesterday reported that,

"The UN General Assembly voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday to condemn Russia’s “attempted illegal annexation” of four Ukrainian regions and demand its immediate reversal, a sign of strong global opposition to the seven-month war and Moscow’s attempt to grab its neighbour’s territory.

The vote in the 193-member world body was 143-5 with 35 abstentions.

It was the strongest support from the General Assembly for Ukraine and against Russia of the four resolutions it has approved since Russian troops invaded Ukraine on February 24.

The Western-sponsored resolution was a response to Russia’s announced annexation last month of Ukraine’s Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions." (Belfast Telegraph: 12 October 2022) (my emphasis)

This result follows Monday's result at the UN when,

"The United Nations General Assembly voted on Monday to reject Russia's call for the 193-member body to hold a secret ballot later this week on whether to condemn Moscow's move to annex four partially occupied regions in Ukraine." (ibid Michelle Nichols)

And now Putin is suddenly offering to boost gas supplies to the EU.

As reported by MSN (AlJazeera article),

" Russian President Vladimir Putin has said Moscow is ready to resume gas supplies to the European Union via a link of the Germany-bound Nord Stream 2 pipeline under the Baltic Sea – an offer quickly rejected by Berlin.

Speaking at a Moscow energy forum on Wednesday, Putin said that one of the two links of the pipeline remained pressurised despite a series of ruptures last month which caused major leaks, sending gas spewing out off the coast of Denmark and Sweden. (MSN : 12 October 2022) (my emphasis)

That Berlin IMMEDIATELY rejected this offer from Putin must have rather shocked him.
