There is an old saying that,
"The Truth Always Rises To The Surface"
As Americans head towards the polls for elections of the US Senate and Congress membership in two days time, the local and international political ether is being overwhelmed by revelations about the historical "bromance" between Putin and Trump.
More importantly Trump, throwing caution to the wind, is openly and unashamedly expressing his support for Putin in his war with Ukraine.
As the former 'short-lived' White House press secretary during Trump's initial election to the US Presidency in 2017, Anthony Scaramucci (left), now reveals,
"SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci has accused President Donald Trump of repeatedly advancing Russian President Vladimir Putin's interests through decisions involving Ukraine, NATO, nuclear arms agreements and satellite communications.
…
"Trump has done everything Putin has wanted him to do," he wrote,
- pointing to Trump's 2018 Helsinki summit with Putin, where the president appeared to question U.S. intelligence agencies' findings on Russian election interference.
- his 2019 decision to temporarily withhold military assistance to Ukraine and the withdrawal of U.S. troops from parts of Syria.
- questioning NATO's defense commitments, lifting sanctions on companies linked to Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska, while keeping sanctions on Deripaska himself
- questioned restrictions on satellite connectivity for Ukraine. There is no way Elon Musk did that without the U.S. president telling him to do that,
- Scaramucci also criticized the diesel fuel arrangement with Russia, arguing that the U.S. could have secured additional supplies from Canada instead. (Ananya Gairola (right): Benzinga on Yahoo News: 1 November 2026) (my emphasis)
Scaramucci is also of the opinion that Christopher Steele has more precise information on the 'kompromat' evidence that Putin had on Trump, even preceding 2017.
As I reported in my blog entry of 17/05/2017,
"On January 10, 2017, the media reported on the existence of a private intelligence dossier containing unverified allegations of misconduct and ties between Donald Trump, then President-elect, and the Russian government during the 2016 U.S. presidential election and the period preceding the election. The dossier was written by a former British MI6 intelligence officer, Christopher Steele (left), who went into hiding after the release of the dossier, but reappeared on March 7, 2017" (Wikipedia)
Scaramucci throws into strong relief the implications that the upcoming US Senate and Congress elections will have on Putin's war on Ukraine.
How these implications will manifest themselves after these elections have generated a veritable tsunami of speculations.
Whatever the outcome of these elections, we can be certain that :-
- a demented Putin will continue along his delusional and destructive imaginary path of 'Novorossiya' by indiscriminately bombing the civilian people of Ukraine.
- And Trump will continue advancing Putin's bombing campaign against the civilians of Ukraine.
The political lives of both Putin and Trump are hanging by a slender thread.
They are now both at their most dangerous.
